Unfortunately, Buddy had a little accident while flying at Wings on Strings.  He will be in the repair shop for a while. If my repair job shows too much, I may make a "Buddy" sized band-aid to put over his owie.

Here's Larry with Dave Gomberg and Jeff Hale.  Jeff is from Neenah, WI and he brought his rainbow banner display that now numbers 40!  It covered the entire end of the flyng field.  Impressive!

Dave and his wife, Susan, have traveled the world flying kites.  Their company has provided kite shows for Walt Disney, the London Millennium Celebration, for the Super Bowl and for major motion pictures.  They perform for 20-30 events each year and have participated in festivals in 35 states and 25 countries. Dave owns the world's largest kite, a 10,000- square foot American Flag.  Dave served an unprecedented ten terms as President of the American Kiteflier's Association (AKA) and, in 2005, was inducted into the Kitefliers Hall of Fame.

We hope to see more of Dave at Midwestern events in the future!

When Carveth Kramer of Taos, New Mexico retired from the National Forestry Service, he wanted to find his creative side.  Well, he has certainly succeeded in that!  He new partners with his wife, Luella, to mix the sun, wind and rich fabric colors in original designs for banners.  Carveth's "Wind Thru the Hair" series of banners, bring lots of smiles to people's faces--I found myself laughing out loud

Larry and I fell in love with these banners and ended up bringing home 4 of the "Wind Thru the Hair" series plus a 4' x 16' banner appliqued with a Zia Pueblo Indian design in a rich red on black.  To see more of these delightful banners on Carveth's website

Mike Gee, one of the organizers of the kite festival in Jamestown, ND, was very busy both days doing the announcing, organizing activities and otherwise making sure everyone was happy.  Chris Dodson is the other half of the dynamic duo that so successfully put on this event.
